coaching services

Coaching is a process that helps people tap into their inner purpose and passion and connect that with outer goals. Coaching is a very unique profession. It utilizes the best of therapy, consulting, mentoring, and even friendship, to create a unique client-helper relationship. This relationship is a powerful alliance - a partnership to help clients manage their lives, create more fulfillments, and live their dreams. Coaches are trained to listen and observe, customize their approach to the individual client's needs, and to elicit solutions and strategies from the client. Coaches believe that the client is naturally creative and resourceful and that the coach's job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that the client already has. While the coach provides feedback and an objective perspective, the client is responsible for taking the steps to produce the results he or she desires.

When we turn to a personal empowerment coach, we want to become better at whatever it is we are struggling with. We want to realize our potential. We know we have the potential, we know that our life can be better balanced, but we have difficulty in developing a plan of action that will help us reach our vision of the way things could be. Something is blocking us or we are too enmeshed in the project. We need a second pair of eyes. We need a boost. Personal empowerment coaches start with where you are. They work with you as a collaborator, to help you realize your goals. Often they help you define and clarify your goals. Once your goals have been articulated, they then work with you to develop a plan of action for achieving those goals.

YPCoach works primarily with adolescents:

“High School” Years (age 13 – 18) youth who are looking for ways to overcome specific age-related issues and challenges such as peer pressure, stress from school/parents, getting into and the transition to college, leadership development, and specific gender related concerns.

“College” Years (age 19 – 21) young people who are trying to balance the sense of independence while continuing to focus on academics, social life and confronting bigger adult-oriented challenges. Many issues facing these individuals are freedom, financial exploration, living situations, and the power of choices.

“Graduate” Years (age 22 – 24) This component of adolescence is most often overlooked. These are well-educated, well-intended individuals who are either about to graduate, or recently graduated and seeking an entry level position with an organization. This person is trying to adjust to new responsibilities and expectations of adulthood, and is seeking a social environment for, fun, dating, and marriage and wants to set goals and opportunities for success.

Parents are often worried or confused by changes in their adolescents. Each adolescent is an individual with a unique personality and special interests likes and dislikes. For each individual there is a movement towards independence, however they struggle with a sense of identity, and feel awkward or strange about one's self and one's body. YPCoach takes a holistic approach and focuses on a number of areas that help make up the core values and ethics of a person.

Parent’s need coaching on how to approach and communicate with their child(ren). Most teenagers only focus on themselves, alternate between high expectations and poor self- concept, have interests and clothing style that are influenced by peer group, have significant mood swings, and show less overt affection to their parents. YPCoach also provides expert coaching for parents who want to overcome these barriers and challenges that come with their adolescent children. Many parents do not have the appropriate skill sets, or patience to communicate and relate to their teenage children. In many circumstances, parents “forget” what is was like to be an adolescent and for those who are sensitive to that part of their life do not fully grasp the changing times and expectations.

Sessions are completely customized to meet your current needs and goals. Your coach has years of experience helping adolescents, parents, professionals and other individuals. Sessions will help you take your personal life and goals to the next level.

YPCoach offers a unique service called “Coach on Call” which is included with most packages. This program allows access to the coach between sessions via email support, brief phone calls and unlimited text and instant messaging. By enhancing the relationship in this manner, the coach and client can work through unexpected challenges, and most importantly celebrate the big successes. Other coaching terms and amount of sessions vary by degree and type of coaching being sought.

Coaching is either held face-to-face or over the phone and is designed to identify and achieve goals that are important to the client. In order for coaching to be successful, a three-month initial commitment is required. However, the coaching relationship is known to go well beyond that beginning stage.
